The categories for prizes in 2008 will be Most Popular, Best Use of Color, Most Unusual, Most Popular Vintage Quilt and Most Popular Small Quilt. In addition there will be prizes awarded by a committee of experienced quilters.
For the winning entries in the 2007 Ohio Outdoor Quilt Festival there are several cash prizes and Olympic style medals as well as merchandise, donated by national quilting organizations. The award for the Most Popular Quilt is donated in memory of Susan Westbrook, a quilter who spent her childhood at Bonnie Brae Farms.
Our 2008 Special Display Category will soon be announce. These will be displayed in our indoor shed. Anyone who owns one of these treasured quilts is urged to display it here.
To display a quilt please bring it to the farm during business hours from July 25th to August 4th. There will be several collection points in the State of Ohio, if you live some distance from Wellington please phone for those addresses.
There are no current limits to the number of quilts a person may display. We encourage both new and old quilts.
Requirements for quilts to be displayed: Quilt must be washable. Quilts must be at least 24” by 24” unless by special arrangement.
To offer a quilt for sale, please bring it to the farm during business hours from July 25th to August 4th. Sale Quilts also must be washable and measure at least 24” by 24.” Not only new quilts can be sold, but antique and vintage quilts have also been some of the most popular quilts for sale at the Ohio Outdoor Quilt Festival.
All sales are completed through the gift shop cash register, Ohio Sales taxes are collected and a 10 % commission is charged. Checks for the remaining amount will be mailed within three days.
